How to picnic 2020 style
Park meetups are the new normal in Melbourne. So we thought we’d help you navigate how best to picnic these days!
Find friends in your 5km bubble
Remember, it’s up to 5 people in total, from 2 households. See you & your friends’ bubbles with this handy interactive map – Melbourne Friend Zone. Just enter your address, then theirs & you will be able to see that sweet sweet overlap, hopefully you have more than just a sliver.
(UPDATE: as of 19 October it’s a 25km bubble & 10 people from 2 households – hooray!)
Select a gorgeous park inside your friend zone
Look up your council’s website to get more info on the park’s amenities. You might be wanting bathrooms, a playground or tables. BBQs are still cordoned off at this point in time.
Look up the weather forecast
The BOM is the most accurate & with a 7 day outlook, fingers crossed you can find a suitable day. But don’t forget – this is still Melbourne, you might just need to pack a brolley & a raincoat in case.
Plan your snacks & vino
We have the perfect hamper for a luxe picnic of 6 or more, with or without vino. If you’re looking for something a little more casual for 2-4 people, we have that too. In fact, peruse our ready-made items here, for plenty of great picnic options!
